Triad Retail Media today announced that its current CEO and founder Greg Murtagh will be stepping down to pursue other opportunities. The company’s current president and COO, Roger Berdusco, has been named its new CEO.

“Leading the company, with Roger by my side for the past nine years, we invented a new industry and had tremendous growth and success with major clients, and I have nothing but confidence that he is the right person to lead the company to the next level.”

Under Murtagh’s leadership, Triad created a new market widely recognized as retail media, which empowers major online retailers such as eBay and Walmart.com to further monetize their websites with highly targeted advertising and customized content from major brands while engaging with potential customers throughout their path to purchase. The company has grown to become the largest agency in Florida, with more than 540 team members worldwide and 120 employees added in the past year alone. The company moved into new headquarters in St. Petersburg in 2013 — a 65,000-square-foot building highlighted by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as one of the “Coolest Offices” in the region. The publication also named the company among its “Best Places to Work.” Triad now has 12 offices in five countries and was successfully acquired by investment company Rockbridge Growth Equity in 2013.

“After a 10-year run, I’ve decided to pursue other opportunities. I’ve built three companies and have always been an entrepreneur at heart. I feel this is a good time to return to my roots,” said Murtagh. “Leading the company, with Roger by my side for the past nine years, we invented a new industry and had tremendous growth and success with major clients, and I have nothing but confidence that he is the right person to lead the company to the next level.”

“I wish Greg nothing but success in his future endeavors. Under his stewardship, we have built a tremendous company and a new market, and I am truly fortunate to have the opportunity to lead our growth as we leverage technology in new ways to help major brands and retailers engage shoppers throughout their shopping journey,” said Berdusco. “I am excited about what the future holds as we continue to grow here in the U.S., enter new global markets, and empower our brand and retail customers to further embrace capabilities such as cross-device mobile advertising.”

Murtagh will remain on the company’s board of directors.
